Jewelry repair, done by hand.
Rings resized, claws retipped, chains and clasps mended, loose stones tightened. Every repair is done at the bench at 333 Washington Street, Boston, by the jeweller who hands it back to you.
Nothing is sent out.
A repair here does not go into an envelope and travel to a workshop somewhere else. Behind the cases at Adriano Jewelry there is a bench, a lamp and a microscope, and the repair is done there, a few steps from where you handed it over.
It arrives as a ring that no longer fits, a claw worn thin, a chain that parted at the clasp, a stone that has started to move. Twenty-three years at the bench, after training in Europe. All of it leaves finished by hand.
What the bench repairs.
The everyday repairs, done properly.
-
Ring resizing
Made larger or smaller to fit the finger it is for now. The first resizing of a ring bought here is free within thirty days.
-
Retipping claws
Claws thin with years of daily wear until they can no longer hold a stone safely. Retipping builds new metal onto each worn tip so the stone is held again.
-
Soldering
Broken joints, split shanks and parted links joined again with solder at the bench.
-
Clasps and chains
Clasps replaced and chains mended where they parted, so the piece can be worn again.
-
Stone tightening
A stone that turns or rattles in its setting is a stone about to be lost. The setting is closed back around it so it holds.
How a repair runs.
What happens between handing it over and wearing it again.

Bring it in
Walk in Monday to Saturday, 09:00 am to 04:30 pm, or book a half-hour visit. There is nothing to prepare: bring the piece.
-
A ticket and an estimate
Every item left with us is receipted. Keep the ticket: repairs are released against it or against proof of identity. If the work turns out to need more than the estimate, we call for your approval before going on.
-
Any risk, said first
Heat can alter certain stones, worn settings can fail, and plated or previously repaired pieces may not survive rework. If we see a risk, we tell you, and whether to go ahead is your decision.
-
Guaranteed for a year
The workmanship on a repair is guaranteed against defects for one year from completion. If a repair is not right, bring it back and we will put it right.
Questions about repairs.

- Once a year. Jewelry is worn, not stored, and claws and clasps wear with it. For pieces bought here the yearly check of settings and clasps is free.
